Rangers bid to sign Cyriel Dessers hits standby as loan-to-buy development emerges
Rangers have put negotiations with Cremonese over a move for Cyriel Dessers on “standby” over an impasse over the structure of the deal, according to Tutto Mercato Web.
According to the Italian publication, the Scottish Premiership giants are keen to explore the possibility of loan-to-buy deal with the Serie B side.
However, Cremonese are hoping to sell the Belgian striker – who scored six goals in 26 Serie A appearances for a side relegated last term – outright.

Tutto Mercato Web says the situation is consequently are taking a patient approach, but will not give up on their target.
The Gers have been busy in this window with Sam Lammers, Kieran Dowell, Jack Butland and Dujon Sterling already joining, and Abdallah Sima set to sign on loan from Brighton.
Sort it or move on
Michael Beale has been determined to land Dessers throughout this extremely busy transfer window for Rangers and is showing little sign of giving up on his quest to land his man.
But at some point, Rangers have got to be willing to move on. If a deal can be struck then great, but if not what they can ill-afford to do is waste time on a lost cause and lose ground on other targets.

Feyenoord forward Danilo is another player on Rangers’ radar and Beale clearly sees Rangers’ attack as an area that needs improving for next season – hence the arrival of Lammers and the imminent signing of Sima.
Rangers have been extremely impressive in this window and are showing plenty of ambition ahead of the new campaign.
Landing Dessers would be another sign of intent obviously, but they cannot afford to be held up on this deal. Sort it out or move on.
In other Rangers news, Morgan Whittaker is still on the Gers’ radar despite interest from the Championship.
