Announcement update emerges as Rangers on verge of Brighton striker Abdallah Sima deal
Rangers are reportedly on the cusp of securing a season-long loan move for Brighton striker Abdallah Sima this summer.
According to Rangers Review’s Jonny McFarlane, an announcement for the Senegal international could be made at 5 pm on Thursday, 29 June.
He also expects them to put a teaser ten minutes for their fifth signing before making the deal official with his medical done.
McFarlane said on the Rangers Review video at 4:10, “I would expect to hear promptly today. Rangers tend to put these things out at 5 o’clock. I would expect a 4:50 teaser that it might be him.”
Ideal position?
Sima is a versatile player who can play on either flank or even down the middle so he could be used in different roles by Michael Beale.
He can deliver 15-20 goals if he manages to stay fit across all competitions but there’s a feeling that he’s going to be playing closer to the opposition goal thank the flanks.
His recent loan at Angers did not work out too well so it remains to be seen how he fares at Ibrox in the coming months.

The different thing is that Gers are expected to win most if not all games they play and will enjoy the lion’s share of possession.
This could see the shackles off the Senegalese and he could go out and express himself in the final third for Belae’s side.
Once this one is announced, the priority is going to be to bring in a new striker and hopefully, someone that can properly replace Alfredo Morelos comes in.
In other Rangers news, the club have now received a breakthrough in their pursuit to complete another summer signing as a key target will not be signing an extension.
