Abdallah Sima arrives in Glasgow to complete Rangers transfer
Brighton forward Abdallah Sima has arrived in Glasgow to agree a loan spell with Rangers, according to the Scottish Daily Mail.
The Scottish paper claim in their Thursday print edition (29 June, page 73) that Sima is set to be the latest attacker joining Michael Beale’s side this summer following the transfer of Sam Lammers earlier this month.
Rangers is the latest loan destination for Sima following spells with Championship side Stoke City and relegated Ligue 1 side Angers.

Low risk, low reward?
Since joining Europe-qualifying Brighton and Hove Albion in 2021, Sima is yet to make an impression as a Seagull.
His first loan spell at Stoke City was marred by injury, with then-Stoke manager Michael O’Neill stating that his injuries could have ended his spell early [The Argus]. His four appearances in the second division did little to show what Sima was capable of.
The Senegalese international’s next loan, a trip to the sunny south of France with Angers, was not met with much more success. While Sima completed a full season in the French top flight, his side ended the campaign bottom of the table with Sima only able to boast four league goals.

Now, a trip to Glasgow is his latest chance to prove himself to his parent club.
Rangers recently announced the signing of striker Sam Lammers, who will be looking to improve in his two goals in 34 games haul from last season with Empoli and Sampdoria on loan.
Sima will certainly be looking to prove himself this season, and could easily displace Lammers should he hit the ground running at the Ibrox, but Rangers fans themselves may be worrying about where their goals will come from come August.

With 11-goal totalling Alfredo Morelos and Fenerbahçe-bound Ryan Kent off Rangers books next season, Michael Beale’s attack will have a new look and will be hoping Sima can hit new goal-scoring heights in the SPL if he wants to challenge title-holders Celtic next season.
However, the deal is low risk for Rangers especially compared to Lammer’s who signed a four-year deal at the Ibrox.
The low risk could turn out to be a high reward for the recent Europa League finalists if Sima begins to show his true potential.
