Rangers transfer news: Update emerges on Abdallah Sima after £3.5m bid for Feyenoord striker Danilo
Rangers have reportedly seen a bid for Feyenoord striker Danilo turned down which has led to their pursuit of Abdallah Sima.
According to the Scottish Daily Mail [28 June, Page 69], they’re set to sign the Brighton attacker after agreeing on a season-long loan.
The Scottish Sun reported on 27 June that the offer made to Feyenoord was £3.5million but that was not enough for the Dutch side.

End of striker pursuit?
If Sima joins, which everything seems to be suggesting that he is, there’s a possibility that Rangers do not sign another striker in the summer unless they plan on playing him out wide.
They’ve already signed Sam Lammers who can play as a nine but is likelier to play as a 10 but it remains to be seen what Michael Beale’s plans are.
The fact that Dessers and Danilo are still considered could mean that the Gers manager may not be done with signing strikers.

This could mean that one of Kemar Roofe or Antonio Colak could end up leaving as that will be too many players capable of playing as a central striker.
Beale could look to play a two-forward system as well if he does not get a quality replacement for Ryan Kent so it remains to be seen how things pan out.
It’s good to see Gers completing the bulk of their transfer activity in June rather than leaving it for the final days of August as they’ve done in the past.
In other Rangers news, the club have no received a breakthrough in their pursuit to complete another summer signing as a key target will not be signing an extension.
