Rangers transfer news as Michael Beale wants Abdallah Sima move before pre-season starts

Brighton winger Abdallah Sima is set to undergo a medical with Rangers ahead of a loan move to the Scottish giants, according to Football Scotland, with Michael Beale keen for him to sign before pre-season begins.

Rangers’ pre-season starts on June 30, and Beale is hoping that Sima will have completed his medical and joined up with the squad ready for the start of their preparations.

Sima, who scored six goals in 37 appearances for Angers in Ligue 1 last season, is set to travel to Scotland to complete medical tests after a deal was agreed between Rangers and Brighton, as reported by Sky Sports.

A good signing for Rangers

Bringing in Sima on loan will give Beale’s side some much-needed depth in the striker department, which has been a key aim of theirs in the transfer market following the departure of Alfredo Morelos.

Sima’s ability to play through the middle or on either wing will be of great benefit to Rangers, as he can provide cover for multiple players, with depth of major importance at key stages of the season. Building depth in forward areas will be key if they want to claim the SPFL title back from their Old Firm rivals.

Sima will certainly add something different to other options Rangers have, and those they are considering, as Beale looks to shape his squad into his own mould ahead of next season.

This news comes following reports that the Bears are considering, or have already made, bids for Feyenoord’s Danilo, Hacken’s Benie Traore, and Cremonese’s Cryriel Dessers in recent weeks.
