Rangers face prospect of battle with SPFL clubs as James Bisgrove aims to replace Celtic man Michael Nicholson

Rangers could reportedly see their bid being voted down as James Bisgrove aims to replace Celtic chief Michael Nicholson on the SPFL board.

According to the Scottish Daily Mail [28 June, Page 69], the SPFL clubs may not vote in favour of the Ibrox outfit as they’re seeking legal action against the league.

Nicholson is set to depart and Bisgrove is standing for election to replace him but will need the support from other teams in the division.

Bizarre

It will be baffling if clubs turn on Rangers and vote against them just to side with the league in this situation.

The governing bodies are already powerful enough and care about their bottom line at the behest of clubs.

It’s massive sides like Gers why the league is worth watching and making an enemy out of them may not be the best idea in the world.

Hopefully, Bisgrove gets his seat on the board as Rangers representation is needed on how to improve the SPFL.

Plenty of things are still archaic about the league and hopefully, someone like Bisgrove can help sort out the mess and help govern it better for everyone.

John Bennett wants to better relations with other clubs and if they end up voting against the Ibrox giants, then it’s difficult to see how that will happen.

In other Rangers news, the club have no received a breakthrough in their pursuit to complete another summer signing as a key target will not be signing an extension.
