Rangers earmark Danilo to ‘spearhead’ attack as Ibrox bid made for Feyenoord star
Michael Beale is eager to land Feyenoord striker Danilo with the Brazilian earmarked as the man to “spearhead” Rangers’ attack for the 2022/23 season, according to Chris Jack.
The 24-year-old has 18 goals and assists for Arne Slot’s side and it’s believed the Gers have made a big to “kick-star” talks (The Herald, 27 June).
Talks are now ongoing with Rangers also monitoring Cremonese forward Cyriel Dessers after seeing their initial approaches turned down earlier in the summer.

Just the start
This will just be the start of the Gers’ move for the Brazilian striker.
They needed to test the waters with an opening offer and now smart and intelligent negotiations are required in order to get a deal over the line.
It’s refreshing to see so many forwards linked with the Light Blues. After Alfredo Morelos’ departure, there was a definite need for new recruits to arrive at the top end of the pitch.

Sam Lammers, on paper, seems like a smart pick-up, but the former Atalanta man cannot be expected to shoulder all of the goalscoring burden.
Dessers has been strongly linked, but at 24, Danilo looks like a far more attractive option. There’s a sell-on possibility and the chance for the Brazilian to be the long-term answer to Rangers’ striking problems.
If Beale does land the Feyenoord man, it probably marks the end of the road for Kemar Roofe. The 30-year-old’s injury issues could see him depart if one or two more forwards arrive.
In other Rangers news, one exit-linked first-team ace has revealed his plans for the transfer window after crying on his way into the club.
