Official Rangers partner shares ‘exciting’ transfer update after Danilo bid tabled
Rangers signing Danilo would be an “exciting” move but they are currently “far apart” from Feyenoord on a price for the Brazilian, Heart & Hand reports.
The Light Blues had a “concrete” offer for the 24-year-old striker rejected according to the Scottish Sun but appear widely expected to return with another as it has been termed an “opening bid”.
Cyriel Dessers’ transfer from Cremonese seems to have got stuck amid an overvaluation at the Italian side in the eyes of those at Ibrox, but while they appear to have now moved on to an alternative the possibility of the same predicament has arisen.
In response to the reports of the first offer being knocked back Heart & Hand took to Twitter and posted an update: “Danilo would be an exciting signing but clubs far apart on valuation.”
Expensive
For a 24-year-old striker who scored 14 goals for a top-flight Dutch side last season Danilo is obviously not going to be a complete bargain.
But surely Rangers wouldn’t be pursuing these options if they had no chance to reach an agreement with the selling clubs, so a lot will depend if there is a meaningful development after this first approach.
While the transfer business has been positive to kick off the summer the club have only actually bought one player in Sam Lammers, with Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling and Jack Butland all free transfers.

The next arrival looks like it will be Abdallah Sima, which would be a positive one, but is expected to be a loan, so if the Light Blues continue to get caught up in negotiations for permanent deals it will raise concerns about the lack of budget once more.
Developments on Malik Tillman’s deal look to have banked the club a useful extra fee, so fans will hope that a price can be agreed in this race.
But with multiple new additions still required it might be the available cash isn’t stretching far enough if the current targets regularly prove to be harder to lock down than the flurry of free ones.
In other Rangers news, one deal that has got bogged down looks set for a breakthrough this weekend.
