Rangers transfer news as advanced talks underway for Abdallah Sima
Rangers are advancing in talks to sign Brighton forward Abdallah Sima on loan, according to a Football Scotland report.
The Gers have been linked with a loan move for the attacker in recent days, who spent last season with Angers in Ligue 1, as Michael Beale looks to increase his attacking options in the wake of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos’ exits.
According to the Scottish Sun [25 June], Rangers are “confident” that they can complete the signing of Sima from Brighton “this week”.

However, according to Football Scotland [26 June], any deal for the Brighton forward could be completed as early as next week with the proposed move now in the advanced stages.
Stellar addition
With Beale desperately on the prowl to boost his attacking weaponry ahead of the 23/24 campaign, he may very be willing to go back on his usual “no loans” policy as this potential Sima deal may be too good to miss out on.
The 22-year-old represents a stellar addition to the Rangers ranks this summer, especially in Kent’s absence – a player blessed with excellent pace, trickery and possesses the capabilities to play in various positions across the attacking line, including the striker position – just like an Ibrox favourite in Fashion Sakala.

With Rangers struggling to bring in top striker target Cyril Dessers from Serie A and Josh Maja, Sima is a deal the Light Blues must get done this summer to ensure they are well-stocked should they fail to acquire those names.
Sima’s career was somewhat stalled after his move to the Seagulls when a loan with Stoke was cut short by injury, but five league goals and two assists in 34 Ligue 1 appearances last term for Angers appears to have got his career back on track.
If he can replicate that amazing 2020/21 campaign where he hit an astonishing 20 goals and registered eight assists in all competitions during his loan spell at Slavia Prague then the Gers are well on course to complete an exciting and effective acquisition.
