Kemar Roofe should head for Rangers exit as ‘sources’ speak out on Abdallah Sima transfer
Kemar Roofe has endured a tough couple of years at Rangers – and the latest news to emerge from Ibrox could be bad news for the 30-year-old.
Football Scotland reported on Sunday 25 June that the Light Blues are advancing in their loan move for Senegalese international Abdallah Sima
According to Luca Bendoni, who works for Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, talks have taken place between the Light Blues and Brighton and Hove Albion over a summer transfer.
“Rangers are in talks for Brighton striker Abdallah Sima, as per other outlets. The deal is not agreed yet, but parties are in contact, my source informs,” he wrote (via Twitter, 26 June).
This could well be bad news for Roofe.
With Sam Lammers coming through the door and another striker likely to follow, the former Leeds forward could fall down the pecking order at Ibrox.
Roofe is one of the highest earners at the club with Football Insider reporting (20 August) that he was on £20,000-a-week.
It would not be a surprise to see Michale Beale let the striker go and Sima would be an exciting replacement.
Over the course of the weekend, it felt as if the Gers were closing in on a loan agreement with the Seagulls.
A move is likely to go through, but, at present, we should probably hold fire on this one.
It’s refreshing to see the loan market utilised. The core of the Gers’ squad has to be made up of permanent additions, but temporary signings are useful when it comes to filling out the squad.

Who knows, Sima could move to north of the border and fire the Light Blues back towards another Scottish Premiership title.
In other Rangers news, Michael Beale is in personal talks to seal a new defender transfer.
