Rangers now ‘increasingly unhappy’ amid ongoing Cyriel Dessers transfer talks
Rangers remain in talks with Cremonese for striker Cyriel Dessers but are becoming “increasingly unhappy” with the negotiating position of the relegated club, according to the Scottish Sun.
The Daily Record reported on 21 June that the Italians want a fee of more than the £6.5million they spent to sign him last year, after a season where he scored six Serie A goals but they finished 19th.
There had been fears that the move was set to be hijacked as interest from Torino emerged, and there is believed to be further interest in the 28-year-old, but while the Gers are not out of the running it sounds like they may consider removing themselves if things don’t change soon.

The Scottish Sun reports: “Rangers are also still negotiating to buy Cremonese forward Cyriel Dessers but it’s understood they are growing increasingly unhappy with the valuation from the club who were relegated from Serie A.”
Frustration
It is difficult for a relegated side to justify an price increase in a single season so if Cremonese are trying to make a profit off the back of falling out of the top flight it is no wonder that Rangers aren’t impressed.
But, depending on the level of interest from the other clubs mooted to have their eye on the Nigerian international the Italian side may be planning to generate a bidding war.
If their demands are already high then that eventuality would surely remove Michael Beale from the running because he has more work to do in the market and doesn’t have a war chest to do it with.

He has already signed Sam Lammers but is going to likely need at least one more in this summer up front if he is going to have enough options to cover the season.
It is partially positive that the talks don’t seem to have been derailed amid the suggestions that Dessers is going elsewhere over the past week but it sounds like if there is no breakthrough imminently Rangers might remove themselves from the running.
Any selling club ultimately has the right to demand the price they want or not sell, but if they are overvaluing a transfer they also risk upsetting the player and scaring off potential business so Cremonese may be taking a gamble if suitors now start to move on.
In other Rangers news, there is now a “concrete chance” that the Light Blues will be successful in another ongoing transfer pursuit according to Fabrizio Romano.
