Rangers £2.8m Benie Traore bid rejected as ‘decisive’ transfer move made
Rangers have had a £2.8million bid rejected for Häcken striker Benie Traore, according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon.
It’s believed Celtic have been trying to green-light a deal for over a week now, with Brendan Rodgers looking to kickstart his summer business (Alan Nixon, Patreon, 25 June).
The 20-year-old Ivorian comes within Rangers’ spending power and the Light Blues have seen an offer turned down.

Sheffield United are now trying to snap up a deal for Traore, who is thought to be available for £5million.
The Blades’ interest and Premier League football could well be “decisive”.
Interesting
It’s clear another striker is very much on the agenda for Michael Beale and the board.
Alfredo Morelos’ exit has left a big void that needs filling. The Colombian endured a tough last season at Ibrox, but his goalscoring ability and record for the Gers cannot be contested.
Sam Lammers has arrived to provide competition for Antonio Colak, but it will be a big ask for the former Atalanta man to match Morelos’ goalscoring return. Therefore, it’s essential for Beale to land another forward before the window closes.

Cremonese striker Cryriel Dessers has also been a long-term target but conflicting reports have emerged from Italy in recent weeks. It remains the be seen if the Nigerian is eager to move to Ibrox.
If a move cannot be struck, then Traore could well turn into the Gers’ main target. He’s young and could turn into an asset if he does move to the Gers.
However, the lure of Premier League football and Sheffield United’s interest could well be too much for the youngster to turn down.
Certainly, one to keep an eye on.
