Rangers transfer news: Fresh twist emerges in pursuit of Cyriel Dessers
A fresh twist has emerged as Rangers continue their striker search with Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers understood to be a priority target.
According to the Scottish Daily Mail [24 June, Page 108], a roadblock has been struck as Gers seem unwilling to match their asking price.
Per the Daily Record [21 June], the Italian club wants £6.5million and despite bids made from the Ibrox outfit and their relegation, they’re unwilling to settle for less.

Saga unfolding
Clubs that get relegated usually have players forcing their hand which sees them cash in on their assets for cheap.
However, Dessers does not seem to be doing that which is seeing the now Serie B outfit playing hard ball over his sale.
It remains to be seen if the Nigerian striker actually fancies a move to Ibrox or is waiting to see if he finds options that better suit him.

He seems to be established in Italy so if a Serie A club is keen on signing him, he may prefer moving there rather than to a different country altogether.
Dessers is the striker signing that Rangers need but they cannot afford to be wasting so much time in the chase to sign him.
If there isn’t any progress in the coming days, it makes sense to move away from him and pursue other options in the meantime.
In other Rangers news, the club are now close to sealing another major signing after the announcement of Sam Lammers in their biggest acquisition of the summer window.
