Rangers transfer news as Lyndon Dykes move urged at Ibrox by Daily Record journalist
Rangers have been urged to make a move for Queen’s Park Rangers’ striker Lyndon Dykes, as featured in the Daily Record, [24 June, Page 54].
The Australian-born Scotland international impressed for Steve Clarke’s side in the recent double-header against Norway and Georgia, respectively, including his crucial equaliser in Oslo.
That impact has increased speculation on a possible move to Ibrox, whilst he has just one year remaining on his contract with the English Championship club.

Daily Record journalist Gordon Parks gave an emphatic response when asked if the 27-year-old should be a signing target for Gers boss Michael Beale.
“Yes. He’s an ideal recruit as he knows the league and is improving season on season,” he said.
“He’ll be a 20-plus goals a season man if they can get him.”

Missing the point
Could Dykes score goals once again in the Scottish Premiership and contribute for Rangers? Absolutely, but so did Antonio Colak and look at the uncertainty surrounding his future.
Dykes has proven himself to be a capable player and is leading the line well for Scotland in particular at present, but this ongoing noise about a move to Ibrox is missing the point.
In the majority of domestic games, a physical target man to run into the channels is not what Rangers need. Clearly.
Recent reports from sources close to the club have indicated that the QPR man is not a target for Beale this summer, then there is the recent arrival of Sam Lammers.
The Dutchman will mostly occupy a second-striker role, doing his best work with his back to goal and in combination play with others. The main striker and goal-getter to come in next will have a different profile and will need to fulfil the hybrid role preferred by Beale. That will not be Dykes.
In other Rangers news, Michael Beale is in the hunt to sign this “excellent” 24-year-old striker as a major roadblock is cleared – report.
