Rangers receive breakthrough in transfer pursuit of Bordeaux striker and Fulham target Josh Maja
Rangers have reportedly been handed a breakthrough in their pursuit to sign Bordeaux striker Josh Maja amid links to Fulham and Valladolid
According to All Nigeria Soccer [June 24], the 24-year-old will not be signing a new deal at the French club and will become a free agent.
This is a boost for Gers as they can now sign him on a free transfer, although he does not feature too high on their shortlist this summer.

Dessers backup?
It’s pretty evident that Cyriel Dessers remains the first choice striker option for Michael Beale this summer.
Despite signing Sam Lammers, he wants someone to come in as an out-and-out number nine and the Clemonese forward is the ideal man for that role.
However, his asking price may be proving to be too much for Rangers so there’s a good chance that they move on from that deal.

In case they do that, they have the option of signing his compatriot Maja on a free transfer and while it won’t be ideal, it’s certainly not a bad option.
They can spend funds in other areas of the pitch and build a side ready to reclaim the league title from Celtic next May.
With a new manager in charge, there will be some upheaval and it’s on Beale and the rest of the Bears squad to capitalise on.
In other Rangers news, the club are now close to sealing another major signing after the announcement of Sam Lammers in their biggest acquisition of the summer window.
