Former player backs Rangers to deliver ‘big statement’ signing
Charlie Adam has backed Rangers’ boss Michael Beale to deliver a “big statement” signing in the coming weeks that would crown his summer rebuild at Ibrox, as reported by Glasgow Live.
Adam was discussing the merits of the Malik Tillman situation between the Gers and Bayern Munich, including the need to replace the numbers that the USA international provided in attack, last season.
The former Liverpool player believes that Rangers will already have been assessing different options, with how the dialogue over Tillman unfolded.

With the long-running saga over the German-American now at a conclusion, Beale and the squad will move on, with Adam considering what happens next.
“Rangers will have probably known about this in the last couple of weeks in terms of the vibe they were getting from Bayern and where it was going to go,” he said.
“They’ll have started looking, they would’ve been anyway, at different options and there’s no doubt they’ll bring in other players in that position.
“He’s (Tillman) a young player who’s played in a top club in Bayern, he got used to Rangers who are a big club and hopefully Michael Beale can bring in somebody who can replace him and bring goals, assists, and make a big statement in the group going forward.”

Inside the building
Tillman is a very talented player who should go on to scale great heights in the game and it will be interesting if he makes another loan move, this time to the Premier League. That is one to watch.
However, it’s all about the Rangers and Beale has plenty of attacking talent at his disposal already. The squad situation at Ibrox means that the replacement for last season’s young player of the year is in the building already.
Todd Cantwell finished the season in fine form, particularly in the 3-0 Old Firm victory, as he highlighted his credentials. He can do as much as, if not more than, Tillman in terms of output although they are not the exact same profile of player.
In addition, Beale can call upon Kieran Dowell, Alex Lowry and hopefully soon, Tom Lawrence for that impact in attacking midfield. There will also be the input of Sam Lammers to show that Rangers are already stacked when it comes to that position, just behind the main striker.
In other Rangers news, a fresh Saturday twist has emerged on the pursuit of a new striker transfer at Ibrox.
