Robbie McCrorie promise broken at Rangers with battle underway to stop Ibrox exit
Less than a year after he penned his new deal, Rangers now face a fight to hold on to goalkeeper Rob McCrorie, according to The Scottish Sun.
The newspaper reported in its online edition (23 June) that several clubs are currently keeping tabs on McCrorie’s situation at Ibrox this summer.
Despite interest from Manchester United, the 25-year-old shot-stopper signed a new deal with Rangers last year however after being promised the opportunity to secure the number one spot, the arrival of Jack Butland may have changed those plans.

McCrorie has been with the club since the age of eight and opted not to quit the club last season in order to fight for a starting spot with his boyhood team.
Michael Beale is a fan of McCrorie, who has kept five clean sheets in six senior appearances, and the club is keen to keep hold of him however another season with little game time will affect his international hopes.
No loyalty
McCrorie should move on from the club in search of first-team football.
It is clear that he wants to succeed at Ibrox however has been let down by his boyhood side. If he truly was promised a shot at the number one position upon sticking with the club, then to deny him that opportunity is wrong.

The goalkeeper has been with Rangers since he was just eight years old and deserves more respect than to be lied to. Five clean sheets in six appearances is an impressive number, especially when you consider one of those came against Celtic in a 3-0 victory, and that alone is enough to deserve a fair run in the first-team.
He showed fantastic loyalty by sticking with the club despite interest elsewhere and it is time for that loyalty to be rewarded. If not, no fan can have any complaints about him leaving and fighting for his Scotland place elsewhere.
In other Rangers news, the club have submitted a bid to sign a ‘major player.’
