Rangers want to sign Tom Davies after ‘massive wages’ turned down at Everton
Rangers target Tom Davies has turned down “massive wages” at Everton as the race opens up for his signature, according to The 4th Official.
It comes after talkSPORT reported on 22 June that the Bears wanted the 24-year-old with his exit set at Goodison Park for the end of the month.
According to the latest report, the transfer would be difficult to complete even if the player was to take a very unlikely 50% wage cut for first-team football.

Writing on their Patreon, The 4th Official said: “Now, talkSPORT has reported that Rangers are interested in signing Tom Davies. On paper, that certainly sounds interesting.
“After all, Beale was once quoted to be interested in him. But, I could find no new interest for him talking with a couple of sources close to the club.
“He turned down massive wages at Everton, and even if he takes a 50% pay cut (which seems unlikely to say the least), it would be a difficult one to get done.”

Massive.
So, it looks as though this one has been ruled as a non-starter already.
That is probably for the best, with Davies said to be rejecting those “massive” Premier League wages, despite the fact he has literally made little to no impact at Goodison Park whatsoever.
Beale needs players who can make an instant impact and have proven they can perform at the highest level, and there is a reason that Davies has been sitting on the bench for most of his stay at his boyhood club.
Yes, injuries have hampered him, but that is just another reason why this particular transfer would make no sense whatsoever, especially given other reports.
Jose Cifuentes is said to be closing in on a move from LAFC to Ibrox, and the Ecuador international is twice the player that Davies is, with smart moves being made.
Time to move on from these silly links now.
In other Rangers news, one player has already agreed to join the club, with a bid now being submitted
