Rangers chiefs want to finalise Jose Cifuentes deal within days as transfer sleuths ‘stunned’ by development
Rangers chiefs want to finalise a deal within the coming days for Los Angeles FC (LAFC) ace Jose Cifuentes, according to the Daily Record.
The newspaper added that transfer sleuths have been left stunned by the player as he played two matches within 24 hours.
Cifuentes featured for Ecuador as they defeated Costa Rica 3-1 on Wednesday (21 June), before flying six hours to help LAFC defeat Seattle Sounders 1-0 on Thursday (22 June).

The Daily Record noted that “transfer sleuths with an eye on that game were left stunned when he was named on the bench and subbed on for the final 20 minutes. LA won 1-0 to go top of MLS’ Western Conference and Cifuentes even had a late goal ruled out as he made his presence felt off the bench.
“But despite his involvement for LA, Record Sport understands Gers chiefs are hoping to apply the finishing touches on the deal in the days ahead now his international commitments are out of the way and it may be telling whether he is involved against Vancouver this Saturday (Sunday morning in the UK) or FC Dallas a week later.”

Exciting talent
The latest developments surrounding Cifuentes will come as welcome news to Rangers fans, who will be very excited to finally see this deal be pushed over the line.
There are no more international distractions for the Gers to worry about now, meaning the player should be relatively free to discuss his future, which Ibrox fans are hoping is in Glasgow.
Moreover, supporters will be thrilled to see the midfielder’s appetite for the game, with not many players capable of achieving the feat that Cifuentes did.
It shows his hunger and desire, but it also shows just how valued he is for his club and country.
He is clearly an exciting talent, and one that Michael Beale is desperate to see travel to Ibrox and become a key member of his squad going forward.
After this superb achievement, next on the list for Cifuentes should be hitting the ground running in the blue of Rangers and helping the club get back to their very best.
