Barry Ferguson tells Michael Beale to sign £2m-rated Lyndon Dykes, he’d be an ‘absolute sensation in a Rangers shirt’
Barry Ferguson has urged Rangers manager Michael Beale to bring QPR striker Lyndon Dykes to Ibrox in the summer transfer window.
The Gers legend believes the forward would be “an absolute sensation” for the club, and is a “ready made” Rangers number nine.
Beale and Dykes have previously worked together at QPR, and Ferguson believes the player will be available for a reunion for around £2million.

“The more I watch our national team go from strength to strength under Steve Clarke, the more certain I am that Dykes is a ready made Rangers No.9,” Ferguson wrote for the Daily Record.
“Put it this way, if I was Michael Beale I’d be all over the big man right now. I know there will be some fans rolling their eyes at the thought of it but I don’t care what anyone else says, he’d be an absolute sensation in a Rangers shirt.
“So, yes, if I was Beale I wouldn’t think twice because it would be a no risk signing and Dykes would guarantee him 20 goals a season as well as everything else he would bring. For something like £2million? It’s an absolute no brainer for my old team.”

Interesting option
It is no secret that Rangers are in real need of attacking reinforcements, having lost both Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent after the expiry of their contracts, with loanee Malik Tillman also leaving Ibrox to return to parent club Bayern Munich.
Sam Lammers has already been brought in from Atalanta this summer, but his signature alone definitely won’t be enough to fire Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title.
The Gers also need to compete in other domestic competitions and in Europe, so the more talented attacking players Beale can bring in this summer the better.
Dykes has already endeared himself to many Scottish football fans with his displays for the national team, with Gers legend Ferguson now desperate for the striker to do the same at Ibrox.
Having played for Queen of the South and Livingston, the forward knows the country well by now, and could definitely hit the ground running if he was to make a return after developing his game in England.
