Rangers injury news as expert reveals 18-24 months Ianis Hagi recovery timescale
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers...
Rangers must look to cash in on Ianis Hagi this summer if there is a market of teams keen on signing him, believes Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert reacted to the Romania international’s lengthy setback from the first-team picture due to his ACL rupture.
He faced a setback in January 2022 and did not return to action for 67 senior games before finally being fit and given the green signal to play on 27 January.

With the transfer window open and a number of Gers players being linked with the exit door, speculation has emerged over the 24-year-old as well.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said, “If there’s a market for him, certainly makes sense to pounce on that.
“ACL injuries and recovery can be quite tough and even though he has returned, I’m typically looking at 18 months to 24 months post surgery to see if a player can hit pre-injury levels.“
His legendary father, Gheorghe Hagi has tipped him to play in Spain when asked about his future this transfer window.

Speaking live on talkSPORT Breakfast [15 June, 9:54am], Ally McCoist believes that he can play at a level higher than Rangers if he manages to regain his full fitness.
Despite returning in January 2023, Hagi ended the season without playing 90 minutes even on one occasion.
The longest he lasted in a game was 74 minutes where he managed to score a goal in a 3-1 victory against Hibernian on 21 May.
In other Rangers news, the club are now close to sealing another major signing after the announcement of Sam Lammers in their biggest acquisition of the summer window.
