Jose Cifuentes agrees to join Rangers as transfer bid submitted to LAFC
Jose Cifuentes has agreed to join Rangers after the Scottish Premiership side submitted a bid to Los Angeles FC, according to Tera Deportes journalist Alejandro Ruilova.
The Ecuadorian midfielder has been linked with a switch to Ibrox throughout the transfer window as part of a shake-up by boss Michael Beale.
It was reported by the Daily Record (21 June) that Rangers were attempting to agree a pre-contract deal with Cifuentes, who is contracted to LAFC until December, then agree a fee with the MLS side to bring him to Scotland early.

Ruilova tweeted on Wednesday (21 June) to say Cifuentes has now agreed to join the Scottish giants.
He added that the Gers have submitted a bid that is being considered by LAFC.
Great breakthrough for Beale
Cifuentes has been on Rangers’ radar throughout the first few weeks of the transfer window and this is a great breakthrough for Rangers.
It is a timely one too given Rangers missed out on the permanent signing of Malik Tillman from Bayern Munich, who had to pay compensation for cancelling an option clause.

Beale has been busy in the market already, with Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling, Jak Butland and Sam Lammers already confirmed for next season and there is little sign that Rangers’ extensive recruitment drive is going to slow down anytime soon.
Cifuentes would add some dynamism in the midfield engine room and be another key cog in Beale’s squad.
It is an extremely important window for Rangers, who finished seven points off leaders Celtic last term and will be going up against a familiar foe next term in Brendan Rodgers after the Northern Irishman returned to replace Ange Postecoglou.
