Preston North End ‘lowball’ offer emerges as Ranger Scott Wright exit collapses

Scott Wright’s exit from Rangers collapsed after Preston North End saw a “lowball” offer rejected for the 25-year-old, according to Football Scotland.

Football Scotland reported on Tuesday 20 June that North End didn’t come close to the Gers’ valuation of the forward, who has been told he can leave Ibrox by Michael Beale.

It’s believed the two parties had been in talks for a number of weeks before talks eventually stalled.

Find a buyer

There will be a buyer out there for Wright.

Considering the number of arrivals at Ibrox, there will have to be one or two departures in the coming weeks in order to balance the books somewhat.

The winger has been rather unfortunate with how things have turned out over the past couple of seasons. He’s always been a hard worker but has just found himself on the periphery of the starting XI.

Whenever he’s been given game time, he usually impresses. If he does depart, Beale will have to look into adding at least one or two wingers to his squad heading into the new season.

Rangers

Ryan Kent’s departure means the Gers are now lacking when it comes to quality wide men. With a number of other positions now dealt with, it could be the area the Rangers boss looks at next heading into the new campaign.

With Brendan Rodgers set to react to Rangers’ explosive transfer window, Beale cannot let up when it comes to his summer business.
