Malik Tillman Rangers return goes ‘pear-shaped’ as Ibrox confirmed news emerges
Barry Ferguson has suggested that Rangers’ move for Sam Lammers has seen Malik Tillman’s return to Ibrox go “pear-shaped”.
It’s believed the Gers have the option to make Tillman’s loan agreement permanent for £5million (Football Scotland, 21 February).
However, Ferguson now feels the deal will be hard to pull off the board and Michael Beale.

“That looks [Tillman] as if it has gone pear-shaped, that deal. He [Lammers] can play number 9 or 10 but I think 10 suits him better,” said Ferguson (Go Radio, quoted by Daily Record, 19 June).
No chance
Tillman will almost certainly move on to bigger and better things.
Of course, there’s been plenty of activity at Ibrox in recent weeks, but the American probably fancies his chances of making an impact at a club that is competing higher up the ladder.
The likes of Brighton and Brentford and believed to be interested and that shows the Light Blues were on the right track when it came to recruiting him last summer.

The Bees and the Seagulls are known for being extremely clever in the transfer market – they very rarely produce dud signings. If the 21-year-old joined either side, there’s a strong chance he would go on to be a success in the future.
His raw ability and intelligence meant he was a level above what was required in the Scottish Premiership. For Beale, it’s now time to move on and focus on landing an alternative.
After Ryan Kent and Scott Arfield’s departure, more is required in attacking midfield. It should be the next area of concern for the Gers boss.
In other Rangers news, a transfer recruit whom the club are thought to be leading the race for has been backed to be a success in Scotland.
