Kemar Roofe could now quit Rangers as £15m Ibrox transfer news emerges
Kemar Roofe has endured a tough couple of years at Rangers – and the latest transfer news to emerge from Ibrox could be bad news for the 30-year-old.
According to the Daily Record 12 June, the Gers are close to striking a deal for Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers, with the 28-year-old said to be available for £5million.
However, the Light Blues could now face a fight to land the Nigerian, with Italian outlet Tuttosport (18 June) claiming that Torino are now interested.

A move for Dessers will add yet another striker to Michael Beale’s ranks after the Gers confirmed the signing of Sam Lammers for a fee believed to be in the region of £3million (Tutto Atalanta, 13 June).
There has also been talk of Rangers submitting a bid for Utrecht striker Anastasios Douvikas, with an offer of £7million mooted (Daily Record, 19 June).

The links to Douvikas are fairly tenuous, but if Rangers did land the Athens-born forward, the club’s spend on forwards could reach £15million.
For the likes of Roofe this can only be bad news. There’s little to no chance of Beale spending that much money and not giving significant gametime to his new recruits.
With the former Leeds man reportedly on £20,000-a-week, his significant wages could well be moved on during the summer window as Beale’s spending spree continues (Football Insider, August 2020).
On the whole, the Ibrox faithful will be delighted with how the summer has turned out so far. The Light Blues have managed to tie down a number of new recruits and it appears the Gers’ spending is showing no sign of letting up.
In other Rangers news, a transfer recruit whom the club are thought to be leading the race for has been backed to be a success in Scotland.
