Rangers transfer update emerges amid Cyriel Dessers hijack risk and Josh Maja roadblock
Rangers target Cyriel Dessers is “keen” to move from Cremonese and the Ibrox interest is “legitimate”, according to Rangers Review.
There is however competition, as the weekend news that Torino are in the frame to sign the Nigerian international is not the only threat, with the latest update suggesting there are multiple clubs interested in the 28-year-old.
The Light Blues have already signed Sam Lammers for around £3million from Sampdoria, but want more than one in this summer.

However, while Josh Maja is reportedly on their “radar” his move is “complicated” by the appeal that Bordeaux have launched against their abandoned final-day league game being ruled a defeat, thus confirming they missed out on promotion.
A clause in the former Sunderland man’s contract would let him leave for free in that case, but pending the appeal his situation is caught up in red tape.
As such any move for the 24-year-old is likely to be delayed with no movement “imminently”.
Options
Rangers stuck to their task and got Lammers through the Ibrox doors pretty quickly, but it looks like it is going to be more of a slog to add to the forward department during this window.
A supposed bid for Tasos Douvikas has been rubbished, and Maja seems difficult to move for until there is a resolution on his contract situation, which is out of his hands.
If Dessers wants to move and Rangers are genuinely in the race then there is surely a fair chance that Michael Beale can help push that deal over the line still.

Torino’s presence does make it impossible to bank on the transfer being completed, but there is no reason to think the Gers are out of the race entirely.
However, if he ultimately does move elsewhere and the Maja pursuit is left on ice while the wrangling in France plays out it risks Beale coming into the new season short-handed unless Kemar Roofe is ready to go immediately.
The manager is likely to have alternative targets in mind, and if the current situation remains as is for the time being it may become time to turn his attentions to them.
In other Rangers news, Malik Tillman could still return to Ibrox despite Bayern moving the goalposts on his previous deal.
