£7m bid update emerges as Rangers want to sign Utrecht striker Tasos Douvikas

Rangers are reportedly keen on signing Utrecht striker Tasos Douvikas to replace the outgoing Alfredo Morelos this summer.

According to Greek publication Nova Sports which has been reported by Daily Record on 19 June as well, they are set to launch a £7million bid for the Greece striker.

The 23-year-old won the Eredivisie Golden Boot in 2022/23 after he bagged 19 goals and shared the award with Xavi Simons.

The Eredivisie is a competitive league so if he can get those numbers in it, there’s no reason to believe why he will not in the SPFL.

Rangers need a marquee signing to replace Morelos and in the Greek forward, they will be getting exactly that.

He is a proven goal scorer for club and country and can take his game to the next level in Scotland under Michael Beale.

He will also have a chance to play in the Champions League and at 23, this is an investment worth making for the 55-time champions.

Replacing a striker of Morelos’ calibre was never going to be a cheap affair and they will have to pay decent money in order to bring in Douvikas.

Hopefully, they manage to get this one over the line before other big clubs come in and offer him more money.

In other Rangers news, the club are now close to sealing another major signing after the announcement of Sam Lammers in their biggest acquisition of the summer window.
