Sir Kenny Dalglish shares Rangers transfer prediction, shares verdict on Sam Lammers after £3m move
Sir Kenny Dalglish has raved about “talented” new Rangers player Sam Lammers, who has joined the club from Atalanta.
The striker has signed from the Italian outfit on four-year deal, as confirmed by the club on Thursday (15 June).
Dalglish has backed the attacker to hit the ground running at Ibrox, and believes Gers boss Michael Beale will now look to sell some players.

“Sam Lammers has just put pen to paper on a £3million transfer from Atalanta,” Dalglish wrote for The Sunday Post (back page of pull-out, 18 June). “The talented Dutchman is expected to spearhead the Gers attack, but can also operate just in behind the main striker.
“Michael will be pleased with the early moves and he will feel they are ready to really challenge and, ultimately, take the title away from Celtic.
“But there may be one or two departures from the first team squad, so it remains to be seen how the exact make-up of what he has to work with looks like.”

Departures likely
Lammers doesn’t exactly have the greatest scoring record, with the striker finding the back of the net just twice from his 33 Serie A matches last season.
That has led to some fans questioning his signature, but they simply need to trust that the boss knows what he is doing with this one.
There haven’t been too many question marks regarding the signatures of Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling and Kieran Dowell, with supporters delighted that the club are making moves, and importantly making moves very early in the summer.
But with these new faces comes the need for current players to move on, with a few more departures very likely after the exits of Allan McGregor, Filip Helander, Scott Arfield, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos following the expiry of their contracts.
Beale must balance his squad, but it remains to be seen exactly who he will look to move on in order to find his preferred team for the upcoming campaign.
