Michael Beale sack verdict emerges at Rangers amid Brendan Rodgers condition at Celtic

Rangers boss Michael Beale will face the threat of losing his job next summer if Brendan Rodgers was to be immediately successful at Celtic, according to journalist Hugh Keevins.

Celtic are in advanced talks with the former Leicester City manager about a return to the club, according to Sky Sports (14 June).

However, Keevins added that his time in the dugout could likewise be cut short if Beale and Rangers can lift the title next season.

“If Rangers should take advantage of any transitional problems in the manager’s office and beat Celtic to the league title then Rodgers’ job could be lost in jig time,” Keevins wrote for the Daily Record.

“Likewise, if Rodgers gets back in the old routine and overcomes Rangers’ rebuild it will be Michael Beale facing the threat of being unemployed 12 months from now.”

Big two

It is clear that there is very much a big two in Scottish football, with Celtic and Rangers constantly battling it out between themselves to see who is the superior club in the country.

Celtic have stolen the headlines in this regard in recent years under Ange Postecoglou, but their beloved boss has now left in order to take on a new challenge in the Premier League with Tottenham.

It was a hard one to take for Celtic supporters, but it is a position they have been in before, with Rodgers leaving for Leicester once upon a time.

The manager could make a dramatic return to Celtic Park, and that would have many Gers fans worrying about what the future holds, with Rodgers undoubtedly a very talented manager.

Given time and backing, the ex-Foxes boss could enjoy further success with the Bhoys, success which could force Rangers into turning to someone other than Beale to try and get the Ibrox club back on top.

In other Rangers news, Ronald de Boer has sent Lammers a two-word message after the Dutch striker completed his move to the Gers.
