Ronald de Boer sends Sam Lammers two-word message after official Rangers transfer news

Ronald de Boer has sent Sam Lammers a two-word message after the Dutch striker completed his move to Rangers on Thursday.

The Ibrox outfit have agreed to sign the 26-year-old from Serie A club Atalanta on a four-year deal, as confirmed by Rangers (15 June).

Lammers previously lined out for Eredivisie outfit PSV, as well as spending time on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, Empoli and Sampdoria.

And Gers legend De Boer, who played for the club from 200-2004, has welcomed the forward to Glasgow.

Commenting under an image of Lammers with his new Rangers shirt, De Boer wrote on Instagram: “Good luck.”

Summer spree continues

Everyone associated with Rangers knew exactly what was needed at Ibrox this summer, with Michael Beale requiring a major squad overhaul in order to get the club back on track.

And the man in the dugout has been working very hard behind the scenes to do just that, with completed deals for goalkeeper Jack Butland, defender Dujon Sterling and midfielder Kieran Dowell all preceding the deal for Lammers.

Fans have given the striker a warm welcome, as has Gers legend De Boer, who will undoubtedly want his compatriot to hit the ground running at his new club.

Lammers has big boots to fill following the departure of the much-loved Alfredo Morelos, with the Colombian a constant threat in the final third during his time at Ibrox.

It certainly won’t be easy for Lammers to adapt to the Scottish Premiership, but he won’t be given much time at all to settle in as fans will impatiently urge the players to immediately put the pressure on fierce rivals Celtic.

In other Rangers news, the club are currently locked in talks with key stakeholders and the Scottish FA after their latest announcement.
