Rangers medical for Jose Cifuentes mooted to be delayed due to two conditions – Injury Expert
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers...
Jose Cifuentes’ Rangers medical may be delayed due to a couple of conditions but this doesn’t mean the move is off, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert reacted after the LAFC midfielder was taken off in the game against Atlanta United on 7 June and that led to speculation of the move being off the cards.
However, it’s understood that logistics and scheduling could delay his moving to Ibrox to complete his medical as he’s currently on international duty with Ecuador.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said, “I’m assuming the delay in medical was simply due to logistics and scheduling, whether it was games for LAFC or availability in the UK.
“As for his recent injury, it naturally would show up during the medical process but the concern around it depends on the extent of it. I haven’t heard much on that yet.“
It’s understood that a fee agreement is all that’s left to reach between LAFC and Rangers before the 24-year-old can complete his Ibrox medical.

The fact that he’s gone on international duty with Colombia means that he’s fit enough so his physical condition is not what has been delaying the move.
Gers have gone about their business quickly this summer and Michael Beale appears to be keen on getting a few more deals over the line in the coming weeks.
In other Rangers news, the club are now close to sealing another major signing after the announcement of Sam Lammers in their biggest acquisition of the summer window.
