Alfredo Morelos agent speaks out as Rangers exit set in stone
Departing Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos’ agent has confirmed that Spartak Moscow have contacted him over a potential transfer.
The Colombian will be leaving the Light Blues at the end of the month with the club announcing he will not be signing a new deal.
Martin Camagno, his agent, refused to say anything more apart from the Russian club getting in touch with him.

He told Sport 24, “Yes, Spartak really contacted me about the transfer of Alfredo. But I can’t say anything more.”
Step backwards?
Had Morelos moved to the Premier League or any other top five European league, one would understand his reasoning.
However, to move to Turkey and play for Spartak where the most he’ll do is compete for the league title, is not what it looked like was in store for him.
He’s been a clinical goal scorer in Scotland and has made his mark for Rangers both in the SPFL as well as on the European stage.

Moving to Spartak does not really sound like an upgrade on Rangers and it’s just perhaps a better salary he’ll be getting.
Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey both left for Ajax and Southampton respectively and that’s understandable but the Colombian surely deserves better.
It remains to be seen where he does eventually end up as there’s a good chance that some other sides also come in for him.
In other Rangers news, the club are now close to sealing another major signing after the announcement of Sam Lammers in their biggest acquisition of the summer window.
