Sam Lammers will formally become Rangers player today as transfer news drops

Atalanta forward Sam Lammers will formally become a Rangers player today as he touches down in Scotland, according to Four Lads.

The official club partner shared the news today with the Dutch talisman expected to become the fourth expected new transfer of the summer already.

Barring any last minute problems with medicals, Lammers will be the first striker to arrive at Ibrox after the confirmed exit of Alfredo Morelos.

Writing on their official Twitter account, Four Lads shared the latest state of play in regards to the Dutchman signing on the dotted line at Ibrox.

“Sam Lammers is due to arrive today to finalise his move to Rangers,” they wrote.

“Barring any last-minute issues with medical, he will formally be a Rangers player later today.”

Formal.

Michael Beale is wasting no time in the market given that it only officially opened yesterday, and his first money will be spent on Lammers.

Free deals for Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling and Kieran Dowell were wrapped up before then, meaning he can spend this window looking for bigger targets.

Lammers may not be the only striker arriving from Serie A either with Cremonese hotshot Cyriel Dessers also on the radar and said to be progressing towards Ibrox.

Morelos left a legacy behind in Govan, but it was clear last season that he was never going to sign a new contract and early groundwork has been put in to replace him.

It may take more than one person given his goals, but with Antonio Colak also still at the club, more pace will be needed on top of Lammers coming in too.

This is a great start to the window, with the announcement likely coming in the next 24 hours if all goes to plan.
