Rangers dealt work permit blow in bid to sign Benie Traore, Celtic now want transfer deal for striker
Rangers and Celtic are both interested in FC Hacken striker Benie Traore, according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon.
Nixon reports on his personal Patreon on Thursday 15 June that the Hoops are keen to strike a deal for the Ivory Coast sensation who “exploded” onto the scene during 2023 with 12 goals in 13 games.
It’s believed Celtic are discussing a deal with even more pace after a landmark work permit ruling allowed English clubs to sign young talents.

Rangers had looked at the 20-year-old, who was a perfect fit for Scotland where the work permit rules were more relaxed.
Clubs in England could not have signed the striker as he has only been capped at under-21 level. However, the door is now open for those south of the border.
£4million is understood to be the asking price.
Shame
The ruling in England could have a huge impact moving forward.
The spending power south of the border is there for all to see and they could now blow the likes of Rangers and Celtic completely out of the water.
It will be interesting to see if Celtic can get get a deal over the line for the striker. Brendan Rodgers’ imminent return will probably be having an impact. The former Leicester boss wasn’t going to return to Parkhead without significant promises from the board.

He will be looking to exert a similar dominance upon his return to the East End of Glasgow.
The Light Blues’ early business has perhaps been a surprise for the Celts. There have been a number of incomings and there’s more on the horizon.
Sam Lammers could well be announced imminently and Jose Cifuentes’ transfer has nearly been completed. Rodgers will certainly have to react in the market. Particularly when you consider how the Hoops finished the 2022/23 season.
In other Rangers news, a pundit has claimed that the Ibrox faithful will love this attacker at the club as Rangers are closing in on another signing.
