Michael Beale declares Rangers close to securing further key targets
Rangers boss Michael Beale has stated that he is closing in on securing players for “key areas of focus”, as told to the club’s official website.
He was speaking after Sam Lammers was confirmed as the fourth signing of the summer, following on from the acquisitions of Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling, and Jack Butland.
The Rangers squad returns to training in two weeks’ time and the manager has pledged that further turnover is set to follow.

Beale sounded very pleased with the business taken care of, so far, whilst he provided the following on the Gers transfer activity that is set to unfold.
“I am delighted with our progress so far in this summer transfer window,” he said.
“We have worked extremely well to recruit Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling, Kieran Dowell and Sam Lammers. We are ahead of schedule in our plans.
“The coming weeks will see more trading both in and out of the squad as we prepare for the season ahead. We have key areas of focus and we are close to securing our targets in those positions.”

Encouraging
Beale is going about his business diligently. It is clear to see that he is following the plan, set out to give his side the best possible chance to hit the ground running as soon as possible, for the challenges of the new campaign.
With Lammers, he has targeted a rough diamond who hasn’t prospered as expected, much like Todd Cantwell. If there is a similar response from the Dutchman as that of the former Norwich man to the platform and opportunity available to Ibrox, it will prove to be very shrewd business, yet again.
Whilst Lammers arrives from Serie A, he could be joined in that direction of travel by Dessers, who starred in the 2021/22 season for Feyenoord.
Sterling came through the ranks at Chelsea with a good grounding in the Championship, whilst Butland’s pedigree speaks for itself, even if his career has stalled.
These players provide encouraging signs for what is to follow, but further quality will be required in order for Rangers to challenge in Scotland, once again.
In other Rangers news, Dave King’s response to spurious takeover talk could lead to a fresh impact in the boardroom at Ibrox.
