Alan Brazil shares ‘worried’ Rangers verdict live on talkSPORT amid Brendan Rodgers Celtic return

Alan Brazil has admitted he was “worried” about Rangers returning to the forefront of Scottish football after Ange Postecoglou’s departure from Celtic.

BBC Sport reported on Wednesday 14 June that the Hoops are in advanced talks with Brendan Rodgers over a return to Parkhead.

Talking on talkSPORT on Thursday morning, Brazil believes the former Leicester boss will have “money” available to battle the Gers next season.

“By all account his agents and representatives have been speaking to Spurs for quite a while,” said Brazil (talkSPORT Breakfast, 15 June).

“I wish him all the best. From a Celtic point of view, Brendan knows what it’s all about. I was worried about Rangers next season.

“I think Brendan is fully aware that Rangers are improving and he will have the money to improve the Celtic side as well.”

Closely contested

Rodgers’ return to Celtic will make life harder for the Gers.

He will be coming back calling the shots. He will have a number of potential targets lined up and won’t want to risk losing the title. It’s important to remember the former Leicester boss won every single trophy available to him at Parkhead.

He’s a top-class manager and if he’s backed in the transfer market – there’s a chance he will be able to improve on what is already a top-class team.

Perhaps the ongoings at Ibrox have seen the decision-makers in the East End of Glasgow have grown concerned. Michael Beale’s transfer activity has been explosive to date.

Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling and Kieran Dowell have arrived – and there’s plenty more in the pipeline for the Rangers boss.

Jose Cifuentes and Sam Lammers would potentially be the most likely to arrive next. The Atalanta striker has reportedly undergone his medical ahead of completing his transfer.

In other Rangers news, a pundit has claimed that the Ibrox faithful will love this attacker at the club as Rangers are closing in on another signing.
