Rangers transfer news: Sam Lammers announcement timeline emerges with medical booked

Sam Lammers appears to be set to become the next first-team signing for Rangers as Michael Beale continues his recruitment drive.

According to Football Scotland [13 June], the Atalanta forward will undergo a medical on Wednesday, 14 June and could be confirmed as a new Gers player on Thursday.

The Light Blues have agreed a fee in the region of £3million to sign the 26-year-old and he’s set to become the club’s fourth signing of the transfer window.

Quick moves

Signing four players by mid June is efficient work from the Rangers recruitment team and it’s a sign that they mean business this summer.

Often, they’ve tended to leave it extremely late in the window to see whether or not they qualify for Europe or how much player sales can generate.

However, this time, they’ve been assertive and identified the areas of weakness pretty quickly and looked to address them as well.

Despite Lammers’ impending arrival, Alfredo Morelos’ replacement still needs to be found as the Dutchman is not a proven goal scorer.

His numbers have been underwhelming, to say the least, over the past few seasons and Beale will be aware of that.

There are links to Cyriel Dessers and he seems to be more in the Morelos mould so hopefully, after Lammers, they can prioritise a move for him.

In other Rangers news, a pundit has claimed that the Ibrox faithful will love this attacker at the club as Rangers are closing in on another signing.
