Rangers medical underway: Sam Lammers transfer to be finalised within hours with another new signing close
Sam Lammers is set to become Rangers’ fourth summer signing within the next 24 hours, as reported by STV news.
The report on 14 June states that Lammers is currently undergoing his medical as he edges closer to completing his £3.5million switch from Atalanta.
The striker is set to join Jack Butland, Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling as the club looks to add to their squad in a bid to reclaim the Scottish title from fierce rivals Celtic.

The 26-year-old began his career in his home country with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven before switching the Netherlands for Italy three years ago. However, since his move, he has struggled to adapt to life at Atalanta and spent most of his time with the club out on loan, most recently at Sampadoria.
Lammers has crossed paths with Celtic before, as an unused substitute for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Glasgow giant’s devastating Europa League final defeat.
Now, with his medical underway, the switch from Italy to Scotland is all but finalised, with an official confirmation expected soon.
Unpredictable
Lammers is an interesting signing, his goalscoring record is questionable and it is hard to call how much of a success he will be at Rangers.
Michael Beale is clearly trying to add depth to his squad, however, without the funds to compete for big-money signings, it makes operating in the transfer market extremely difficult. So far it seems as if Beale has been forced to rely on attracting free agents and players less coveted by other clubs.

Lammers would certainly fall into the category of a player not highly coveted around Europe, however, that is not to say that he can’t be a success. The player has experience playing in some of the continent’s top leagues and might be able to use that experience to his advantage in Scottish football.
While it is not the dream signing many fans would be crying out for, Lammers is a seasoned professional who may have his best days still ahead of him.
In other Rangers news, while one medical takes place, Rangers may look to delay another one.
