Rangers transfer news: Wednesday AM medical for ‘unfortunate’ Sam Lammers to complete permanent Ibrox move
Sam Lammers “will be sold” to Rangers with his medical set to take place on Wednesday morning, according to Tutto Mercato Web.
The Dutch forward has had an “unfortunate” time in Serie A at Atalanta over the past three seasons, as he has been loaned out three times while scoring just six goals in total for four different clubs.
But he is now set to become the latest new arrival at Ibrox this week, with Chris Jack reporting that he is set to sign a four-year contract in a deal which will cost more than £3million [Glasgow Times, 12 June].

The 26-year-old will become the first attacking arrival of the summer for Rangers, who have already signed a goalkeeper in Jack Butland, a defender in Dujon Sterling, and a midfielder in Kieran Dowell, with the medical to now be conducted within hours.
Imminent
Michael Beale looks set to rescue Lammers from an unhappy period in Italy, with a fruitless detour to the Bundesliga sandwiched in between.
With Alfredo Morelos gone there is currently a space to be the main man in the Rangers attack, and pending further new striker signings, the imminent fourth deal of the rebuild has the opportunity to be a key man.
The injury record at Ibrox in recent seasons means Beale is going to need plentiful options in attack, so Nigerian international Cyriel Dessers, and potentially more, could still arrive up front during this window.

Assuming nothing unforeseen crops up in the medical tests over the next 24-hours the Light Blues boss will have one of the two strikers he has said he wants in at the very start of the window.
The pace of the early summer business has been impressive, so if he can continue to get the players he is targeting through the doors he should be feeling confident for the preseason.
That is when the real work begins though, as nothing is won in the transfer market if it can’t be backed up on the pitch.
In other Rangers news, the door is now open for the Gers to make a run at a third striker for nothing and things could “move fast”.
