Dave King in talks with UK billionaires as Rangers takeover now on the cards after court ruling
The Easdale brothers are to have 20 million Rangers shares returned to them after a court ruling lifted a block against them, according to Alan Nixon.
The Sun journalist reported via Patreon on Tuesday (13 June) that Sandy and James Easdale, from Greenock, are now considering whether to partner up with ex-Ibrox chairman Dave King to become “a significant control group within the club”.
It is understood that talks have already been held between the Easdales and King while there’s also a plan in place to secure American investment to win control of the Light Blues.

As quoted by The Herald, King has since said that he’s not been in talks with the Easdale brothers and that he remains “100 per cent behind” current chairman John Bennett.
Major shift
Could we see yet another change in the hierarchy at Rangers this year?
Based on Nixon’s update, there’s a good chance of it because the Easdales, coupling up with King and investors from the States, could be enough to make them majority shareholders at Ibrox.
Sandy and James Easdale are worth over £1.4billion, according to The National, ranking them 126th on the UK rich list for 2023.
Could we see a move happen this summer and see major investment pumped into the squad at Ibrox?

So far, Michael Beale has used his contacts and used the free agent market well to add a few signings to the squad, with the most impressive being Jack Butland.
But with millions of extra pounds potentially available from a behind-the-scenes change at Ibrox could mean we stop looking at players who’ve been released by English Championship sides and start to look at international players from across Europe and across the world.
We’ll see how this pans out but right now, we wouldn’t expect anything imminent and any hope of investment this summer could be no more than a pipe dream.
In other Rangers news, the door is now open for the Gers to make a run at a third striker for nothing and things could “move fast”.
