Burnley join race to sign Malik Tillman as Rangers future up for debate despite £5m buy option
Burnley are the latest Premier League club to join the race for Malik Tillman, with his Rangers future now up for debate after his loan move from Bayern Munich.
The Ibrox club have a £5m option to make his loan move permanent after he shone for the club, with ten goals and four assists over the course of the season.
But the player is yet to decide if he wants to return to the club permanently and according to the Daily Express (13 June) Vincent Kompany’s side have now joined the race for his signature, alongside Brighton and Brentford registering their interest too.

“The future of the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year Malik Tillman remains up for debate, however, amid reported interest from the Premier League,” they wrote.
“Tillman was exceptional during his loan switch from Bayern Munich and Rangers still possesses a £5m option to buy.
“Yet the USMNT attacker is expected to assess his options this summer with the likes of Burnley understood to be keen on his services.”
Less likely
If you’d asked Rangers fans and Michael Beale himself just a few months ago about their confidence levels when it came to signing Tillman permanently, you’d have imagined it would have been quite high.
But the more time goes on and the more signings Rangers start making without mention of Tillman’s return, you start thinking this looks more and more unlikely.

£5m is likely to be a big chunk of our summer budget and we can’t go around splashing the cash while we wait on a decision one way or another because it could affect the plans we have elsewhere.
If Premier League clubs are showing an interest then they’ll be favourites because £5m is absolute peanuts to them and they can hugely gazump us when it comes to wage offers too.
At this point if he does arrive it will be a massive bonus for the squad, but we’d be crazy to expect it and it’s probable that we’ve seen the last of Tillman in a blues shirt.
