Official Rangers partner in ‘better league’ reaction to confirmed Ryan Kent transfer exit to Fenerbahce

Heart & Hand Podcast has reacted to Ryan Kent’s confirmed Rangers transfer exit to Fenerbahce by suggesting the winger’s long-awaited move had a disappointing outcome.

The Turkish giants announced the deal with a video of the 26-year-old posted to their Twitter page on Monday (12 June).

The former Liverpool man has long been linked with a lucrative return to the Premier League even amid speculation around a move to the Super Lig [Calcio Mercato, 25 May], which had increased greatly since his departure alongside four of his teammates was confirmed prior to the final home game of the season, but Fenerbahce have won the race for his signature.

Reacting to the video of Kent in a Fenerbahce shirt introducing himself to the Turkish club’s fans, Heart & Hand wrote on Twitter: “Thought he might get a better league to be honest.”

Answer

Where Kent finally landed has been anticipated for weeks, once it became clear he wasn’t going to remain a Rangers player past this summer as had largely been expected up until this season.

British players heading to Turkey isn’t unheard of and there certainly won’t be any let up in intensity in signing for one of the big three in Istanbul.

Kent has come down on a different side of the divide to Ibrox legend and former Galatasaray boss Graeme Souness, but he will be well accustomed to a heated big-city rivalry in leaving the Old Firm derby for the Intercontinental derby and the huge rivalry with Besiktas.

Rangers

For all his detractors Kent was a key man throughout the last few years at Ibrox so how Michael Beale replaces him this summer remains a key question.

Having already tied up three free transfer signings he has turned his attention to the attack, with a striker to fill the gap left by Alfredo Morelos currently top of the agenda.

A summer of change continues in Glasgow, with plenty of work still to do for the manager to stock his side for a title challenge next term.

In other Rangers news, the manager of one “key” target has sanctioned his departure and his arrival at Ibrox could now be “soon”.
