£5m Rangers transfer update emerges as Cyriel Dessers in talks over Ibrox move

Rangers reportedly believe that they will be signing another striker after securing the services of Sam Lammers from Atalanta.

According to the Daily Record [12 June], Gers remain locked in talks with Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers as there is confidence in striking a deal and that’s understood to be close.

They will be shelling out a fee in the region of £5million in order to bring the 28-year-old to Ibrox this summer.

Will it happen?

Signing two strikers in one summer is a signal of intent from Rangers and that’s precisely what needs to be done this window.

Replacing a striker like Alfredo Morelos is not going to be easy but if they can recreate it and make it a more balanced attack where everyone’s fancied to score in every game, then it can take the club to the next level.

It is still not clear if Dessers and Lammers are both signed, whether or not Antonio Colak will still be at the club as his future also hung in the balance.

He started this past season strongly but withered away towards the end and that could be down to Michael Beale not trusting him.

It remains to be seen if the Croatian striker will want to stay around if two new strikers join as that could make him third in the pecking order.

He certainly wouldn’t have liked playing second fiddle to Morelos and this would’ve been worse for him.

In other Rangers news, a pundit has claimed that the Ibrox faithful will love this attacker at the club as Rangers are closing in on another signing.
