Medical scheduled for Sam Lammers to sign for Rangers in next 48 hours, £3.5m development to be confirmed
Sam Lammers has a medical scheduled at Rangers in the next 48 hours and is set to sign for £3.5million, according to the Scottish Mail on Sunday.
The 26-year-old Dutchman will become Michael Beale’s fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Kieran Dowell, Dujon Furlong and Jack Butland.
Lammers has been on the Gers’ radar for several years and has been earmarked for the No.10 role at Ibrox.

“Currently tied in Atalanta, Lammers is due in the UK for a medical in the next 48 hours and is set to be officially unveiled by the end of the week in a £3.5million deal,” the Scottish Mail on Sunday wrote. [11 June, pages 100 and 101]

Brilliant news
Rangers’ strong start to the summer is set to continue, with Beale getting one of the attacking bodies his squad so dearly needs.
After the departures of Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent, goals were in short supply in his current first-team options, but hopefully, the arrival of Lammers will help to alleviate this issue.
A £3.5million fee doesn’t look like bad value for a centre-forward who has been playing at the top end of European football over the last few years, however, his lack of goals has been striking in recent seasons.
In his three loans away from Atalanta, the Dutchman has managed to net just three league goals – something that would have to reverse sharpish if he completes his medical.
However, this move highlights the ambitions of both Rangers and Beale this summer. They clearly aren’t afraid to get stuck in and get the numbers through the door that are required.
Celtic will be getting a little nervous about the flurry of action at Ibrox ahead of what should be a classic Scottish Premiership title race next season.
In other Rangers news, a current Ibrox ace “will leave” once one of the aforementioned deals is completed.
