Rangers ‘fine details’ thrashed out for Cyriel Dessers Ibrox switch

Rangers are thrashing out the “final details” with Cremonese ahead of Cyriel Dessers’ proposed transfer to Ibrox, according to The Daily Record.

It’s believed the Gers have offered up to £5million including add-ons for the 28-year-old striker (Daily Record, pg 58, 10 June).

However, it’s understood that “sources close to the deal” say the small details must be agreed upon before any move can be completed.

Getting there

It feels as if Rangers are slowly getting there when it comes to Dessers’ switch to Ibrox. The Nigerian striker has been on the Gers’ radar for a number of weeks and it’s now about patience. Michale Beale has enjoyed an excellent start to the transfer window, but until a striker is signed, there will be some concern.

Alfredo Morelos’ shoes need filling. Say what you like about the Colombian’s final season, his goalscoring record cannot be knocked. If Dessers does move to Ibrox, he will have some extremely big boots to fill. Haji Wright and Sam Lammers have also been linked in recent weeks as Beale looks to solve his forward issue.

Rangers

Most Light Blues fans will be delighted with the early part of the window. Jack Butland has come in to replace Allan McGregor, Dujon Sterling will offer James Tavernier some genuine competition, and Kieran Dowell has bolstered the midfield options.

If two strikers can be added in the early part of the window. Beale’s overhaul will really start to gather some momentum.

In other Rangers news, work permit issues have now emerged which means that the club may not be able to complete a major signing this summer.
