Rangers position shared as talks continue for Cremonese ace Cyriel Dessers
There reportedly is optimism growing of negotiations progressing between Rangers and Cremonese this summer.
According to the Scottish Daily Mail [08 June, page 75], talks are still ongoing after Gers saw an opening bid for the 28-year-old rejected with a price tag of £7million being slapped on his head.
The Scottish side are negotiating for a lower price but are confident of securing this deal sooner rather than later and they also want to wrap up Jose Cifuentes’ deal.

Expensive deal
Even if Rangers manage to bring down the price considerably, it’s going to be a multi-million deal so they need to be sure they’re getting the right man.
Replacing Alfredo Morelos is not going to be easy given that Gers do not have the budget like Premier League sides to splurge on a big name.
Dessers is understood to be high on Michael Beale’s wishlist at Ibrox and it’s evident that the manager wants to sign him.

He may not be well known to the casual Rangers fan, but if Beale wants him then the board needs to trust him unconditionally.
They have been pretty efficient in getting deals over the line thus far and hopefully, it continues for a while as two or three more signings are needed.
Another attacker needs to come in despite Dessers closing in as Ryan Kent also needs replacing just as much as Morelos.
In other Rangers news, work permit issues have now emerged which means that the club may not be able to complete a major signing this summer.
