Rangers transfer deal for LAFC midfielder Jose Cifuentes may hit the skids
Rangers may have seen their quest to sign Jose Cifuentes from LAFC hit another roadblock after what happened to him last night.
Los Angeles FC were facing Atalanta United on 7 June and were held by the East Coast outfit to a 0-0 draw.
Cifuentes started the game but did not end it as he had to be taken off before the full-time whistle due to an injury.

If it’s a minor injury then it should not scupper any plans for a potential transfer but if it’s more serious, it could have ramifications.
The Herald journalist Chris Jack reported on 6 June that the Colombian was expected to jet into the UK for his medical at Rangers.
However, if his injury is a serious one, his transfer to Ibrox may be off the cards as it can take him time to recover and he perhaps wouldn’t be the same player after it.
It seemed like his move was imminent and it was only a matter of a medical and then an announcement would’ve been made.

Rangers have moved very quickly in the transfer window to get their deals over the line despite not qualifying for the Champions League yet.
Hopefully, the 24-year-old’s concern is not particularly grave and he’ll be ready to return to action soon for LAFC and can complete the formalities for his transfer.
In other Rangers news, work permit issues have now emerged which means that the club may not be able to complete a major signing this summer.
