Rangers locked in talks as they submit bid to sign Cyriel Dessers, Cremonese respond
Rangers remain in talks with Italian club Cremonese over a move for their striker Cyriel Dessers, according to the Scottish Daily Mail.
The newspaper adds that the Gers had an opening bid rejected for the 28-year-old forward, whose Cremonese side were recently relegated from Serie A.
Dessers found the back of the net 10 times from his 32 matches in all competitions this season.

“Rangers remain in talks with Cremonese as they look to strike a compromise deal for Cyriel Dessers,” according to the Scottish Daily Mail (page 77, 8 June).
“The Ibrox club saw an opening offer for the 28-year-old striker rebuffed, with the Italians initially quoting a £7million asking price.
“Dessers, however, is thought to be keen to move following Cremonese’s relegation from Serie A and there is now some optimism of negotiations progressing.”

Clear interest
There is clear interest in Dessers from Rangers boss Michael Beale, who has been working very quickly behind the scenes when it comes to transfers in order to build his own squad for next season.
The boss has already said goodbye to the likes of Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos and Scott Arfield among others, while Dujon Sterling, Kieran Dowell and Jack Butland have all agreed to make the switch to Ibrox.
But Beale won’t be stopping there, with a new striker now seemingly the manager’s priority in the coming weeks.
It remains to be seen exactly how successful Dessers would be in the Scottish Premiership, but Beale has been careful in his transfers so far, and seemingly won’t be making too many mistakes in the summer transfer window.
It really has to work out for the manager, who won’t be given much time in the new campaign if his new signings do not immediately hit the ground running at Ibrox.
In other Rangers news, Harry Maguire has sent a three-word message to Butland after the latter agreed to join the Gers.
