Cyriel Dessers offered phone call to complete Rangers transfer as bid submitted
Former Rangers striker Marco Negri has offered a phone call to Cremonese ace Cyriel Dessers to help him complete a “dream” move to Ibrox.
Negri, who played for the Scottish outfit from 1997-2001, has worked as a specialist forwards coach since retiring from playing, according to The Herald.
The Gers saw an opening bid for Dessers rebuffed, with the player’s current club initially quoting a £7million asking price, according to the Scottish Daily Mail (page 77, 8 June).

“I think they can do the deal because, at the end of the day, Cremonese are now in Serie B,” said Negri, as quoted by The Herald.
“The guy will want to sign for a club like Rangers. It will be a dream come true for him. He can always give me a phone call if he isn’t sure what to do and I will advise him to sign!”

Summer move likely
Dessers scored 10 goals in all competitions this season, but his Cremonese side were relegated from Serie A, which means that he will more than likely be on the move this summer.
The forward will no doubt have higher ambitions at this stage of his career than to be playing in the second division of Italy.
The 28-year-old has had plenty of clubs over the years, but Rangers fans won’t care if he can come to Ibrox and fire them to a league title in his first season there.
Gers boss Michael Beale knows full well that he needs to bring in attacking firepower this summer, with record European goalscorer Alfredo Morelos leaving Ibrox at the end of the most recent campaign.
The Colombian’s controversial moments won’t be missed by Beale, but his goals will, with Morelos proving his goalscoring ability time and again in blue.
Rangers need a striker capable of hitting the heights that Morelos did, just without the theatrics that he brought with him.
In other Rangers news, Harry Maguire has sent a three-word message to Jack Butland after the latter agreed to join the Gers.
