Rangers and Celtic among clubs realistically expected to battle for Liverpool sensation Leighton Clarkson
Rangers and Celtic are among the SPFL clubs that could realistically expect to rival Aberdeen to sign Liverpool sensation Leighton Clarkson.
According to Football Scotland [07 June], Hearts and Hibs are the other teams that could sign the 21-year-old ahead of Aberdeen.
The Athletic have claimed that Scottish top flight clubs are keen but have not named names with a potential exit on cards for the midfielder.

Worth considering
Clarkson impressed at Pittodirie this past season so he perhaps may be ready to take that step up and play for a title-contending side.
At 21, he’s still on the younger side and even if he can provide depth for his first two years and keep making appearances off the bench, it should be good enough.
He will also learn from more experienced and better players at Ibrox and Michael Beale is great at giving younger players confidence.

He’s also likely to give him a chance in pre season should he sign and this a move Gers must consider as he’s not expected to cost too much either.
Liverpool are willing to let go of the Blackburn-born talent as they’ve got quality players and are looking to add to their strength in that department.
This is one worth keeping tabs on and he could surely put in a shift, especially with Glen Kamara also appearing to be on his way out.
In other Rangers news, work permit issues have now emerged which means that the club may not be able to complete a major signing this summer.
